Marrying statistics to video is a three-step process:

1. Upload your video

Every time StatEasy is opened, two windows appear – a smaller StatEasy window and Chrome. The smaller window is where we upload video.

Simply drag and drop your video files into the white space on the window.

StatEasy will upload and encode the video. It does not matter what type of video file your camera produces (.mp4, .mov, .mts, .avi), this little window will automatically encode the video into a format StatEasy understands (.ogv).

This is so you don’t have to worry about what codec your video is in. We take care of that for you.

2. Associate Video to an Event

This next step basically tells StatEasy, “Hey, these videos go with this game” Once the videos are uploaded, they will appear in “Manage Videos” on the Dashboard.

 Click Manage Videos.

Sometimes, video cameras will automatically split videos, even though you never paused the recording. Rather than associate two, three, or four videos to an event, we’ll merge the videos together into one video. The goal is to associate just one video to an event. There will be check boxes next to each video.

Select the videos you want to merge, and click Merge Videos.

You will also be able to rearrange the files and rename the video.

Once the videos are merged together, we can associate the single video to an event.

Under “Actions” click Associate to an Event.

A menu will appear with the available games, and a button in front of each. Click the button for the game you want to associate the video.

Click Use this event.

Lastly, click Done – I’ve reviewed the details. Your video is now associated to a game!

3. Synchronize Stats to Video

Synchronizing stats to video is as simple as finding the first service attempt.

First, click View Stats for Your Team from the Dashboard.

Each game will be listed. To the right of the game you want to sync, click on Watch Video under Actions. You will be brought to the screen shown below.

First, switch to Sync Mode. A dropdown menu appears under “Play Mode” to get there.

Play the video until the first serve attempt, and then hit pause. Now, click on the Service Attempt stat in the timeline to the right of the video. You will notice a sync time will appear next to the stat timeline.

Switch back to Play Mode. The game is now synchronized to video!

We utilized the stats on the bench to help us win a 5-set match against the 4th ranked team in the country! They were not using StatEasy by the way.

One of our major [focal points] is professional development… That is part of our mission, and this product, hands down, does that.

It gives that coach an option of showing their players instantly, not just their numbers, not just their stats, but film to back up what those numbers say, so that’s something that we think could be really special to the coach.

We believe it’s the model that is going to catch on once people realize the quality of the product.
